Fieldwork archives
This collection holds various documents of certain BIAA excavations and surveys mostly up to 1994, such as Beycesultan, Can Hasan, Taşkun Kale, Aşvan Kale and Tille. It includes log books, finds and conservation records, architectural and artifact drawings, photographs, research notes, correspondence and official documents. This collection also includes a photographic archive which contains predominantly black and white negatives and contact prints of certain BIAA projects. The majority belongs to the projects conducted by Alan Hall and by David French. There is also a large collection of slides from the Tille excavations and Ian Todd’s Central Anatolia survey. The photographic archive documents not only the field work but also the artifacts found during the work.
Photographic archives
The photographic archive predominantly contains black and white negatives and contact prints of a number of BIAA projects. The majority belong to projects conducted by Alan Hall and David French. There is also a large collection of slides of the Tille excavations and of the Central Anatolia Survey conducted by Ian Todd. The photographic archive documents not only the fieldwork undertaken, but also the artefacts found during the research projects.
Current BIAA projects
The BIAA continues to support archaeological projects, and other initiatives within the Humanities and social sciences relating to Turkey and the Black Sea.
